It's the art of optimizing your content so it's picked up and cited by AI response engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google SGE). Unlike SEO which aims for a click to your site, GEO aims for citation and brand recommendation within the conversation itself. It's technical branding. But beware: GEO is not a replacement for SEO, it's a complement.

Absolutely not. SEO remains the essential foundation. A site with poor architecture, indexing problems or degraded performance will neither be well ranked by Google, nor properly crawled by AI bots. GEO overlays SEO, it doesn't replace it. And above all, the human remains central: it's your real expertise that must show through.
