It's the art of optimizing your content so it's picked up and cited by AI response engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google SGE). Unlike SEO which aims for a click to your site, GEO aims for citation and brand recommendation within the conversation itself. It's technical branding. But beware: GEO is not a replacement for SEO, it's a complement.
Absolutely not. SEO remains the essential foundation. A site with poor architecture, indexing problems or degraded performance will neither be well ranked by Google, nor properly crawled by AI bots.
